Commitment to a Safe and Inclusive Environment

Topic Slayer League (TSL) is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. The league aims to foster a community built on curiosity, knowledge, and healthy competition.

All participants, organisers, question setters, editors, and volunteers are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner at all times. Harassment, discrimination, or behaviour that creates a hostile environment will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Participation in Topic Slayer League implies agreement to abide by this policy.

Scope of the Policy

This policy applies to all individuals participating in or associated with Topic Slayer League, including:

• Participants and players
• Question setters and editors
• Organisers and administrators
• Readers, volunteers, and collaborators

The policy applies to conduct occurring across:

• Online gameplay platforms
• Official communication channels such as WhatsApp, email, and social media
• Discussions related to TSL during and outside gameplay
• Any interaction connected to Topic Slayer League activities

Expected Standards of Conduct

All individuals participating in Topic Slayer League are expected to:

• Treat fellow participants, organisers, and contributors with respect and professionalism
• Engage constructively in discussions, feedback, and gameplay
• Maintain decorum across all official and informal communication channels
• Respect diversity of backgrounds, identities, and viewpoints
• Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive quizzing environment

Participants are encouraged to act in good faith and maintain a spirit of friendly competition.

Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviour is considered unacceptable and will not be tolerated:

• Harassment, intimidation, or bullying in any form
• Derogatory or discriminatory remarks based on gender, religion, caste, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, or political beliefs
• Personal attacks or abusive language directed at participants, organisers, or contributors
• Repeated disruptive behaviour affecting gameplay or community engagement
• Sharing offensive, inappropriate, or discriminatory content
• Unwelcome or persistent communication that causes discomfort or distress
• Any behaviour that creates a hostile or unsafe environment for participants

This applies to both public and private interactions connected to Topic Slayer League.

Reporting Concerns and Complaints

Participants who experience or witness harassment or inappropriate behaviour are encouraged to report the matter to the **TSL Community Support Council**, which comprises members from both the organizing team and the players.

Reports may be submitted by:

• The affected individual
• A participant who witnessed the incident
• The reader who witnessed the incident
• Any individual with knowledge of the incident

All complaints will be handled with appropriate discretion and sensitivity.

Review and Resolution Process

Upon receiving a complaint, the Topic Slayer League organising team will:

• Acknowledge receipt of the complaint
• Review available information
• Seek clarification from relevant parties where necessary
• Assess the matter impartially
• Determine appropriate action

Where appropriate, the organising team may attempt informal resolution. If required, a formal review may be conducted to ensure a fair and balanced outcome.

Disciplinary Action

If a violation of this policy is established, Topic Slayer League may take appropriate action, including but not limited to:

• Verbal or written warning
• Temporary suspension from ongoing matches
• Removal from the current season
• Restriction from future Topic Slayer League events
• Permanent ban from Topic Slayer League activities

Topic Slayer League reserves the right to take action where behaviour is deemed inconsistent with maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.

Confidentiality

Topic Slayer League recognises the importance of confidentiality when handling complaints. Information related to complaints and any subsequent review will be shared only with individuals involved in addressing the matter, to the extent practicable.

Efforts will be made to protect the privacy of all parties involved.

Policy Review and Updates

Topic Slayer League reserves the right to amend or update this policy at any time to ensure continued alignment with the league’s values and objectives. Any updates to this policy will be communicated through official channels.
